Greetings, and welcome to at least the first Pern Fanclub on deviantART that I've seen. As you may or may not know, according to her website Anne has recently approved fanfiction, fanart, and so forth for personal, non-commercial useage without the threat of lawyers eating our faces off.

In addition to that little disclaimer, I'd like to mention that I've never run a club on DA before, and I haven't joined any for ages, so if I'm doing it horribly wrong, feel free to tell me so.

:: What's All This? ::

Okay, now I'm seriously going to talk about the club. Basically, this is intended to be a club to encourage some of the Pern fans lurking around deviantART to come out of the woodwork and let themselves be known. A place for art, writing, contests...all that good stuff.

If you're not familiar with what the heck "Pern" even means....wtf, get out of here. No, seriously, the Chronicles of Pern is a series of science fiction books written by Anne McCaffrey the details of which I couldn't possibly condense into one paragraph. :: How Do I Join? ::

Just send a note to the club with the following information filled out. Do NOT comment on the mainpage expressing a request to join. Send a note, or I'll eat your eyes. Or sick firelizards on you. Or something.

Which of the books have you read?
How long have you been a fan?
Anything else you want to say about yourself?

None of this will show up on the club anywhere, of course. I'm just curious.

:: How Do I Submit Things? ::

I *think*, that in compliance with DA's favving policy, that the club is not allowed to fav any of its members' deviations. Which is dumb, but then the next logical step would be for any artwork you want to displayed to be submitted to the club itself. Which means that I have to get off my butt and upload it >:C

So here's what you do! Send me a note, with the link to the deviation you want in the club gallery, and then Iiii will save it and reupload and such in the same category, only with, of course, your name to credit it.

If it sounds dumb, that's because it is. Either that, or I'm not in full understandment of DA's policy, but that's the way it is for now! :q
